Please reach out to us at hello@fostercarehelp.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Foster Care Help exists to ensure that Foster Care Providers and Foster Children have access to common resources so that they can accept foster child placements that under other circumstances may have to be turned away. Our goal is to significantly increase the number of successful placements by providing the tools and items needed to support Foster Care Providers, and in doing this keep as many children out of group / community homes as possible and into a loving, caring home atmosphere.
Foster Care Help is a Federally and State Registered, IRS Approved 501C3 Charitable Organization.
Foster Care Providers and Foster Children
We also, several times a year will open our doors to ALL children in need.
Because our organization is designed for Foster Care Support, we can only open our doors and give outside of the Foster Care Community when we have an abundance of donations, when this occurs, it allows us to provide seasonal clothing for children in need. We try to time this out with the start of the school season each year, which is typically when the biggest needs are for local families.
Email is the fastest and only way to get ahold of us until you are assigned a Foster Care Advocate. To get set up for assistance please email us at hello@fostercarehelp.com.
Once you are assigned a Foster Care Help Advocate you will have a direct line to call in to.
Donated items can be dropped off at our regional office located at 330 Carr Drive Brookville, Ohio 45309. We have a donation trailer onsite that you can drop donated items into Monday thru Saturday from 8am until 5pm.
Please email us at hello@fostercarehelp.com and we will gladly set up an appointment to meet with you or to give you instructions for after hour drop off of your donated items.
Yes, we can. Please consider that the cost of moving trucks at 8mpg or less, and volunteer time is very costly to us. We try to have a minimum "pickup" valuation of at least $200 worth of items to offset the costs we incur to pick items up. If you have less than $200 worth of items to donate please still check with us and we can arrange a pickup when one of our donation pickup crews are near you.
It is our desire to provide the absolute best for the families and children we serve. We believe that the items we provide do more than just meet a tangible need, but send a message of Christ's love and the value each child holds. This is the main reason we request and try to only keep and distribute items in new or gently used condition.
Some Items that we consistently DO NOT keep to distribute are:
* Used Undergarments
* Used Socks
* Used Stuffed Animals
* Used Mattresses
* Expired Car Seats
* Broken or Damaged Items
There are times where we cannot distribute or utilize items. This can be due to the item having more wear than we want to distribute, be damaged, have cigarette or pet odors, stains, etc.
When we cannot utilize an item that was donated to us, it is our policy to always still seek to find the highest and best use for the donated item(s).
1) We Donate the item(s) to other charitable organizations that we network with and are confident they will be given to those in true need and make a difference in someone's life.
2) We trade the item(s) with another group or organization for things that we need. If we have 400 pairs of socks but no underwear, and another organization has an abundance of underwear and no socks we simply trade items to help both groups meet their inventory goals.
3) We put item(s) aside to use in our yearly open house that is open to the general public where item(s) are either sold or donated within the communities that we serve.
4) At times item(s) if they cannot be traded to help us with shortages, item(s) may be sold to raise money to purchase inventory or items that we need to operate.
5) As a last resort, item(s) that cannot be donated, traded, sold, or distributed any other way efficiently may be disposed of at our discretion. This is a last resort and our goal is to never throw away anything that can be useful to someone somewhere.
While we greatly appreciate your generosity, we prefer to only receive donated goods and items that we can gift to others.
If you have money to donate, please consider purchasing items that we can use.
We are very fortunate to have our funding covered for the 2024 and 2025 fiscal year as a gift from Driven Enterprises Inc. / Green Envy Fertilization & Weed Control has generously paid for our building lease, utilities, internet, computer equipment, office fixtures, and everything necessary to operate until the end of 2025.
However, If a financial donation is your preferred way to help our organization please contact the office directly.
The following are a few of many opportunities for your organization to help us here at Foster Care Help:
1) Host a Donation Barrel - Donation barrels are available for hosting. These are used to collect NEW packs of underwear, socks, diapers, wipes, school supplies, personal hygiene items just to name a few. These donation barrels are available to be hosted throughout the year.
2) Literature Hand Outs and Creating Awareness - If you have a large congregation, or large school, large factory, or any place of business that large numbers of people visit, we can print literature to be distributed to them within your organization that creates awareness of what we do here at Foster Care Help and educates on how individuals can help our mission.
